The A side, Cause I'm Ready is a bright arrangement heavily influenced by 1970s Chicago crossover like Young Mod's Forgotten Story era Impressions, or Dakar-era Otis Leavill. This side tells the universal story of personal growth and finding the confidence to leave a toxic relationship.
Flip the disc and you'll have a perfect contradiction, One Thing I Know on the B side is a deep soul ballad where Jett remorsefully bemoans a love lost too soon.
